Usually folks just disappear, but sometimes they decide to post a farewell first. Or, sometimes they have somebody else do it for them. Below is the complete text of those goodbye posts. Of course, sometimes, actually, most of the time these people end up coming back. In that case, the date of their return will be included along with the post. :) January 12, 2001 - January 13, 2003 Happy New Year. Oh, and goodbye too. I have spent far too much time on the internet, to the detriment of my studies and hobbies. I am off to live in the real world again. Goodbye. BTW Please put this as my goodbye post. I will never post here again from this day. Bye all. Jonathan David Downie
February 1999 - November 19, 2000 If this gets to the hallowed realm of arc-t, you will all soon realise that this is the last time I will post. Unfortuanately my other commitments have piled up and I see no point in coming back just to lkeave again as I have done many times. I may stay around to answer any questions anyone has or to accept goodbyes but apart frma that, this is the last time you will see me. I have however started an IRC channel for arc-t'ers past and present to just hang around in without the need for long postd#s thus reducing the length of time I will need to be online. Discussions may carry on in there, in factI hope they doand I do not wish to rival the official #arc-t but my channel will be called #arc-t_revived . I have connected to the IRCLondon server if you really need to know and my nick is JonBoy2001. See you there, Monday to Wednesdays anytime between 7pm and 10pm GMT. Jonathan
Holyfire - semi-reg Well, it looks like this is going to be the final end of my participation in arc-t. Sorry I sort of disappeared in the middle of a conversation. With the failure of most free-ISP's last year, NetZero is now my only convenient access to the net (both free and readily available). I have 40 hours a month. I, quite literally, no longer have time to be here. So until I find either a more reliable ISP or the money to actually get a real one, I won't be here. And since I don't see much chance of either one happening, this will probably be my last post. It's been fun. Bye.

Inky - semi-reg again! Hey all. Just so I don't drop out w/o saying goodbye, I wanted to say, "goodbye." I'm extremely busy these days. Between looking for a publisher for a non-fiction mss, putting the finishing touches on a fiction mss, trying my hand at freelance short stories, and working part time at a sign place, I just don't have much left over. Plus, things in the group just aren't as interesting as they used to be. *sigh* I'll prolly drop back in again sometime. -- Inky (arc-t's theist semi-achristianist) PS Steve, do you keep no-longer-arounds in the yearbook? If so, LMK and I'll go ahead and get around to sending a pic. ~~ To e-mail, change .co_ to .com. ~~
Chris Nelson - semi-reg posted by wersh on March 25, 2001 My parents think I'm depressed and suicidal. They don't understand I do what I do because I _don't_ want to die.. I might give them depression though, but not suicidal! Anyway: My account has been restricted from the newsserver, and I don't have the time to use deja :( I'm supposed to interact with 'real people' more often now!?! I shall not be able to return for the time being. I pray you get along w/out me?
June 30, 1998 - September 29, 2000 Subject: Chris' official resignation With much pain and distress, I must announce that I will for a long time Not be able to do Usenet.. Not that you need or deserve an explanation.. but hey! I was yelled at last time I left without one, so: One of my friends has committed suicide.. and the same day another one attempted. Needless to say, I've had some issues to deal with.. Adding my closest friend (Whom I love deeply) moving away to college.. Well, I'm going to leave now, with much less fanfare than I came in with..

Sam Rusling - semi-reg Subject: liberate tutem me
I've finally got tired of arc-t.
Oh, I may hang around to finish off the odd discussion, but I wont be
Spiked - regular This was posted as a part of an arc-t story As his last act before dissapearing into the haze of airtravel towards destinations unknown, Spiked pulls out a cell phone, and calls the local office of the FBI and throws in the local poilce for good measure. Then he calls for a pizza, large, cheese, no anchovies. The Pizza arrives, and is promply devowered. Spiked orders a bottle of Vodka (litteraly, little water) and downs it in three gulps between dances, finally the Police show up, and Spiked fades into nothingness
wersh - regular posted by Bethany on August 16, 2000 Subject: The wersh saga I regret to inform you all that wersh will not be returning to our newsgroup. I did talk to him and he has had some personal difficulties and has moved back home with his parents for the time being. He felt that he was spending too much time in the ng and being that he is currently on his parents computer when I do receive mail, he is not spending much time online and has opted not to return. He said he may pop in and say hi somewhere down the road, but not any time soon. I will miss him terribly as I'm sure others of you will too.
